Algebra Example.
This is my DLO I made about algebra. It is showing how to simplify problems in algebra.
WALT: Simplify expressions by combining like terms.
The first thing I learnt was that algebra can be easy.
The second thing I learnt is that trying to put you post on your blog can cause aggravation.
The third thing I learnt is that when you put images on your doc may delete other pictures.

Llama Report.
Llamas
Hi. My name is Carl the Llama and today I am going to share my life with you. The good, the bad, all of it. So if you would like to learn about my crazy life and the life of my fellow llamas read on and enjoy! P.S. This is my first time doing this so cut me some slack P.SS. Check out what I do in my spare time. (I am not crazy) 🐫
Facts
Ok, so one of the things I’m pretty sure I am meant to tell you some facts about my breed. We can grow up to around 6feet tall and we weigh somewhere in the 280 to 450pounds area. And you may not know this but us llamas are pretty smart and you can train us to do lots of tricks. Something that you did probably know about us was that we don’t bite, we spit instead, but even that we don’t do that often. One last fact, we have THREE stomachs!!!! That enough information now right? Let's go onto the next subject.
Lifespan
Unlike you humans, we llamas only live for about 20 years, but our oldest brother, John, lived for 25 years and 201 days! He’s a legend in our community. It is kinda surprising that we are not endangered being that our ladies take 350 days just to have one mini-me, and don’t bother with wanting twins because that is super rare. Luckily once your mini-me is 2 years old they can start breeding. I guess it's pretty good that we aren’t endangered because if we ever go to war we will have lots of fighters and we can just call on our cousins for reinforcements, you know what I’ll tell you about them now.
Breeds
This may be one of the more boring subjects because there are only really 4 different breeds. The main two are Llamas (the best) and the Alpacas. And then we have two wild cousins the Vicuñas and Guanacos, if you even meet them be careful they are a bit crazy and good for nothing. We llamas are very helpful though, which you will learn about next.
Uses
Like I just said my breed is very useful, for one we have some of the best wool. It's soft, it's lightweight but very warm and it's so strong and smooth that on the list of the best wool in the world it's higher up than normal sheep wool!! As well as having beautiful wool (definitely not trying to brag) we are very good pack animals because we can carry ⅓ of our body weight on our back!!! And we are so useful we can even guard a small herd of animals, we are that awesome. (still not trying to brag) So as I was saying at the beginning we have many uses, now shall we move on.
Diet
This should be easy given the amount I eat or at least try to eat, so let's get on with this. The thing that is most impressive about us Llamas is not the food we eat but the amount we eat and drink. When we are full-grown we are able to eat a whopping 10 - 12 pounds of things like grass, hay, corn, and roots,(because we are vegetarian.) A DAY!!!!! And we can also drink 3 gallons of water, although we don’t need to drink much to survive. In general, we eat lots of things, lots of time , and now I will tell you about where we eat them.
Habitat
Unlike other animals like sheep or cows, we Llamas only live in the Americas. We originally only lived in South America in the Andean highlands (which is part of Peru) but recently we were taken up to North America to be bred and used for things like rides for puny little children. Although there are about 158,000 Llamas in North America that can not compare to the 7million that live in South America. I think that is about enough about where we live, let's move on.
So it turns out that that is all of the interesting information there is about our breed to tell you. But at least you have learned how useful, awesome, and hungry we are. So I guess you have to leave now. Leave me all alone without even Paul to keep me company. GO. GO now before I get too attached to you as I did to Paul. Paul. PAULLLLLLLL. COME BACK TO ME!!! PLEASEEE!!!!! WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Detective Mcdonald
Childhood
When Detective Mcdonald (I’m just going to call him Mc) was a child he had a good life. He went to a Scotland school, played soccer with a Scotland team, and had a Scotland life. He always had the idea in his head of being in some sort of emergency team.
Coast Guard
One of his first jobs was a coast guard. While he was working he had some very strange jobs. One of them was after WW2, there had been a big boat which had dumped all of its bomb like things in a big trench at sea. All these bombs washed up onto a beach and this is bad because A. They were. bombs (DUH), B. They could set of a flaming hot flare with just the heat of your hands, and C. They were BOMBS. Luckily, nobody was injured in this incident.
Next Job
Gradually, Mc decided that the coast guard wasn’t for him so he changed his career to a fish farmer. He enjoyed this job but he became a part time police man for some excitement. Slowly, he decided that he wanted to become a policeman full time so he went to college for 18 weeks and got into the CIB.
Detective.
After a while he became a detective. This made him able to do more important stuff like search warrants, Undercover work, and immirgration work. After a while some people came from New Zealand looking for police to come over here and work.
New Zealand
While he was in New Zealand he moved around a lot. He went down to Greymouth about 11 years, and in 2017 he moved back up here with his family. He is still a detective now but hopefully you won’t see him around.

The Boy Who Cried Wolf
Many years ago there lived a young shepherd boy who was an awful prankster. His favourite prank was to take his sheep to the furthest paddock and then go running to the nearby village shouting “HELP ME HELP ME” and saying that there was a huge wolf attacking his sheep. He would then run back to the field and by the time the villagers got there all they would see was a bratty, laughing boy. He did this act multiple times and it began to get on the townsfolk nerves. One day he was tending to his sheep and two very big hungry wolves did actually come. The boy then ran faster than he ever had to the village but when he called for help nobody came. The boy then started to cry. The butcher came out of his shop and told the young boy that they were sick of his games and the hard work to do themselves. The boy slowly walked back to his sheep and saw that they had all been eaten.
The moral is if you make a habit of telling lies nobody will believe you if you tell the truth.

Maui And The Sun.
Many, many, many years ago there lived a young boy named Maui (you might have heard about him) One day Maui asked his brother If he could go fishing with them. The brothers halfheartedly agreed through the prayed for Maui to not have another turn-into-a-bird-and-scare-all-the-fish-away accident. The next day the set-off but just as the had begun to cast their lines the naughty sun went down. The brothers' complaint amongst themselves and the Maui suddenly came up with a plan. That night he and his brothers plaited together a giant net made of flax. When they were done they silently crept to the gigantic hole where the sun slept and carefully laid the net across the hole. That morning when the sun rose it got stuck in the net. The sun thrashed around but the 4 brothers held the net down. Maui started repeatedly hitting the sun in the nose with his weapon which he had made from his grandmother's jawbone. The sun started crying out in agony and cursed Maui. Maui then made him promise to slow his trip down when he went over the sky otherwise he would come back with the jawbone. From then on the sun went slowly over the sky.
Lion And The Mouse Fable.
We are learning about Fables so we can improve our vocabulary.
Long ago in a savanna there lived a big Lion. One day after a long day of hunting lion flopped down in a shady patch to sleep but while he was asleep a family of mice came back home to discover the Lion in their way. They all started clambering over lion but just as the last little mouse was climbing over the Lion woke up and quickly grabbed the mouse. The mouse pleaded with the lion to let him go and the lion agreed. A couple of days later the Lion was walking down a path when he suddenly got pulled up into a net set by a hunter. He cried for help and when the little mouse heard him he ran to the rescue. The miniature mouse started chewing through the rope and freed the lion. After the lion got free the lion thanked the mouse and they became best friends.

How The Kiwi Lost Its Wings.
How the Kiwi lost its Wings
Thousands of years ago. In this amazing area, we now call home. Tanemahuta roamed through the greenery. One day when he began walking aimlessly through his kids (WEIRDO) the trees he saw that they were falling sick because there were bugs infesting them. He called on his brother Tanehokahoka and explained to him the situation. Tanehokahoka then called on the birds and began asking the one by one if they would come down to live on the first floor.
He first asked Tui if he would be so kind as to come down from the forest roof and begin a new life on the forest floor. Tui peered up through the few leaves as the nice warm sun shone down on him, and then he examined the forest floor. To his dismay it was very dark and cold looking, so he replied to Tanehokahoka by saying “no sorry it is very dark looking down there and I am much afraid of the dark. Tanehokahoka then moved onto the next bird.
Pukeko will you come down to the forest floor he asked. Pukeko gazed down at the damp muddy forest floor and the looked at his nice clean dry branch. He called down to Tanehokahoka “I am sorry but the floor of the forest in much to wet for me and may cause my feet to get muddy. Tanehokahoka then moved onto the next bird.
Pipiwharauroa will you come down to live on the forest floor he asked once more. Pipiwharauroa eyed the floor and then he glanced around at his working family and the shining sun. He then made his replied to Tanehokahoka “I can not at the moment because I am to busy making my nest. Tanehokahoka then moved onto the next bird.
Kiwi will you come down Tanehokahoka echoed. Kiwi gazed around at the trees and the rays of sunlight. He looked at his family hopping around and then he looked at the dark forest floor. He then replied to Tanehokahoka “yes, yes I will. The gods were then filled with joy as the now had some hope. Tanehokahoka then warned Kiwi that if he agreed to this he would have to grow strong legs to be on the floor and that he would have to lose all his colourful feathers and wings so he would blend in with the forest floor, he would also never be able to return to the trees. Kiwi still replied with yes.
Tanehokahoka then turned to Tui and said, You were too afraid to come down to the forest floor so you will always have two feathers under your chin to show what a coward you are. Pukeko, you were so worried about getting muddy you will now become a bird of a swamp. And Pipiwharauroa, since you were to busy building your nest to come down you, will not build another nest but steal them from others. From then on Kiwi lived on the ground and ate all the bugs.

Maui ans the Giant Fish
Maui and the Giant Fish
A very long time ago. When Maui himself sailed the seas, there lived a young boy named (you guessed it) Maui who’s one dream (at the time) was to fish with his brothers for he wanted to have a part in the enjoyable deed that they performed.
Everyday Maui’s Brothers; Maui-mua, Maui-taha, Maui-pae, Maui-roto, and Maui-Tikitiki-o-Ta- ranga would go out fishing and catch many fish. And every evening when his brothers would reach their land again Maui would canvass with them to let him come, but they would always use the same excuse “Your will take up to much room meant for fish” or sometimes “Your so skinny we might mistake you for bait and through you in on accident” so after a while Maui got used to disappointment.
On day though he had gotten roasted for being to sort and skinny to many times and got very angry and decided to create a master plan. So that night when he was alone, he started making a fishing hook by weaving flax together into a sturdy rope. While he was creating his line, he chanted a kadakia until he finished it by weaving in a jawbone from his ancestors. Early the next morning before anybody else was up, he went out to his brothers canoe and suppressed away into the hull and started waiting.
When his sibling finally arrived, they began pulling the waka out to the water. During this time the brothers complain about the boat being heavier and that the others should cut back on the kumara until the oldest brother told them to shut it.A little while later when Maui heard them drop the anchor and realised that they were past the point of going back he revealed himself for all to see. His brother when flabbergasted but when the got their voices back Maui got many new words added to his vocabulary, but when he could finally get a word in he explained to them that he had been born to be a great fisherman and their ancestors had said so themselves.
Maui said to them that he would recite a kadakia and they would catch more fish then they ever had before. So the brother casted their lines and began catching fish straight away until their waka was filled. After they had finished Maui declared it was his turn and pulled out his rope. At this action as the brothers saw his line they burst out laughing “you can't fish with that” they said. Maui was a bit annoyed after that but just continued to asking them for some bait which just started a new round of laughter. Now feeling even more miffed, became his own bully and punched himself in the nose creating a flow of blood that he then started covering his hook with.
The hook sunk all the way down to the bottom of the ocean and caught on the biggest fish yet that started towing the whole boat across the ocean. The brothers pleaded with Maui to cut the rope by after awhile he began to gain so rope back, until finally he pulled to the surface a giant fish.
Maui and his brothers paddled closer to the fish and Maui commanded them to get out of the boat so he could go back to their island and fetch their people. As soon a Maui had departed from the fish, his brothers started chopping into the mighty fish and claiming gigantic portions as theirs. When Maui came back with his extended family they all witnessed the true greediness of the brothers. From then on all of Maui's people lived on the fish and it became the north island, and Maui's Waka became the south island.

Greek Legends
I am posting this because we are learning about legends in class.
This is the greek myth about how the world came to be.
So in the beginning there what just chaos pretty much just lots of misty soup floating around in the sky causing chaos. After a while he settled down and created Gaea or the earth and she was literally the earth. Gaea was able to transform into a human for and walk around all over herself. One day she got bored and decided that she could really go for a man so she created the sky who named himself Ouranes. Gaea and Ouranos ended up having 3 sets of kids in their first set they had twelve kids which were called the titans. There were 6 boys and six girls. After they had the kids Ouranos went back up to the sky and was a very unhelpful father. Somewhere in there Oceanus the titan of the ocean and Tartarus to god of the giant pit below the underworld had been created. Both of these other “Things” had a crush on Gaea which made thing quite awkward with their relationship. After a while Gaea thought that If she had more kids with her husband they would become closer but instead of having cute little kids she had triplets with only one eye each, Gaea called them the elder cyclopes but Ouranouse didn't like them so he chained them up and threw them into Tartarus. He also did the same with their next set of triplets who each had 100 arms. Gaea ended up throwing a huge hissy fit and her twelve titan kids came running to help. Gaea wanted her kids to help her kill their dad which the where fine about. All six girl went away to do other stuff because they were smart enough not to get involved along with one of their brothers. So that left the five boys though the youngest brother named Kronos was the only one who volunteered to actually kill his dad. That night Gaea lured Oranous down to earth for a romantic dinner and once he was settled in the five brothers jumped out a pinned him to the ground so Kronos could slater him and scatter his body pieces all over the world. After he killed him he became king.

Retelling of Rata and the Totara Tree.
Hundreds of years ago, when the maori made up most of the population there lived a man named Rata. Rata had been commanded by his chief to craft a giant waka so their tribe could go on a voyage. The chief wanted the waka to be made of the tallest tree in the forest so Raata and his men set off the find a tree.
After many days of tramping through the bush Rata and his men found a tree great enough to be their victim. They began to chop down the tree but Rata had forgotten to recite the chant which would grant him the tree for Tane the god of the forest . The men finished chopping down the tree and then walked home. They came back the next day and there the tree was standing in all its glory without any sign of damage. This carried on for the next couple of days until on night Rata to see what was going on. He hid in a bush and saw many bug-a-lugs come and restore the tree.
It was then he realized that he had forgotten to say the chant to tank Tane. He repeated the ancient chant and the the next day he and his men chopped down the tree again and that night instead of the animals renewing the tree the crafted it into a waka for all the men and woman!.

Moment In Time
I see the beautiful deserted beach as I slowly stroll down it whilst digging my toes into the sand.I hear the waves crashing onto the thousands of rocks, causing the seagulls to flee in terror.
I think I am the luckiest girl in the world to have discovered this beach while on a walk with my grandparents.I feel so very relaxed as I gradually make my way down this gorgeous miracle of nature. I wonder if I will inherit my elders little cottage and all of this still calm land.
