Hi Leah-Maree, Ernest Rutherford is a very interesting person to learn about as he is one of the most accomplished physicists in my opinion. He was the first to split an atom, he discovered the planetary model of the atom (also known as the Rutherford model) and he is a winner of a Nobel Prize. He is also on the New Zealand $100 bill.
