Quarantined Thoughts.
Sat.4.April.2020
It is only about 10 days into the month-long quarantine process, but already my sister is driving me insane. Sometimes she is fine to be around, like when we go for a run or we’re both just doing our work, but then she just goes and does something petty and when I get annoyed she just smirks at me and does something else. Other than being aggravated by her, I have been doing other things as well, such as; getting lots of school work done, playing on the rope swing my dad built in the forest, and reading lots of books. I can’t wait for quarantine to be over so I can see my friends.

This morning I woke up and realised that since today was the change of daylight savings which means I can sleep in for an extra hour and not feel guilty for being unproductive. At about 8:30 my mum, sister, and I went for a 1.5 km walk in which I took my remote control car. A Little while later after we got home my sister and I went down to the swing where we played a ‘fun’ game where one of us would stand on a log and the other one would swing just in front of the, like “just” in front of them. A couple of times instead of swinging around her a swung into her.

I have not written for a while simply, because I have nothing that I feel is worth taking the time to write down, but I will give you a summary. I have continued doing my runs every second day, but now instead of going in the cold pool, I have opted for going on walks every other day. Sometimes I will bring my bike or ride on my sister’s ripstick and the others will just walk. I have started to read the original Jungle Book, which is sadly taken longer than expected, and a couple of days ago I got my script from “Shrek The Musical” out to read through. It amazes me how much thicker the script is compared to the ‘Wizard of Oz’ one, but then again about half of it is filled with the songs. Yesterday when I was watering the plants I saw a Praying mantis laying eggs, and right next to it were some eggs that seemed to be hatching. My sister and I went exploring through a piece of the forest by our property which was very cool because after the tornado came past our house last year loads of trees got blown down. Most days lately my family has been doing fun little Easter egg hunts with plastic eggs for each other. Yesterday I did one for my Dad and sister, the rules will take too long to explain, but they were more or less running around our lawn with shirts pulled over their faces. I’m stopping here because I want to continue with my math.

Today I have finally finished my giant maths booklet thing with on Education Perfect; 17 tasks inside of it, which I have been working on for about 5 days now. I went on a walk this morning and rode my scooter which I haven't done in a very long time. Before lunch, my sister and I set up an Easter egg hunt for my mum and dad which was very enjoyable with the last egg the found was hidden in my hair. We also started watching the sound of music tonight which is always a good movie to watch. I must be getting to sleep now though.

Today was quite exciting because it was the first day that we would be having online school. I only had one class today which I was looking forward to, but it was quite uneventful because only three people joined and none of them could hear me. I went down to the swing twice today with my sister and both times she injured herself. The first time she was trying to do 5 spins in a row but she slipped off and landed on a stump which scraped up her leg. The second time was when she was trying 4 spins in the other direction, but she didn’t go wide enough, and despite my warnings (even if they were last second) managed to smack right into the tree. This evening we watched the movie ‘Happy Gilmore’ which was very amusing. This is all I am going to write for today.

I had a few more online classes today which a bit more happened in than the past day. First of all, there were 6 or 7 people each so there was more conversation, and we also got to set some more work to do after looking over the already done work. Tonight we watched the movie ‘Princesses Bride’ which despite its cheesy name is a very good movie which I have watched probably about 6 times now. My mum and I finished doing the puzzle which we were working on and it looks really good. I am going to try to take some cool photos for a photo competition in the Northland. I am going to stop writing to go to sleep now.

Today was pretty boring because I didn’t do anything of consequence. I did some study ladder and maths and waited around for two online classes which didn’t even happen. I tried taking some photos for the competition but I am a crap photographer so it didn’t go very well. I and my sister watched ‘Ace Ventura, pet detective’ which like all Jim Carey movies was great. I am going to read now.

Today was a disgusting day outside so I didn’t do a whole lot. I finish about 2/3 more pages of science work, but I only have about 6 left to do which I am happy about. I had two online classes today neither of which were very exciting, though we did get to play kahoots in one. My mum went up to Kaitaia to do the shopping and later in the evening my dad came back home from Shanghai. My sibling and I made a happy birthday sign for our nanas partner to hang up outside his house tomorrow for his 80th. I didn’t do anything else mildly interesting today, so I am going to go now.

Today I slacked off in the whole school work department. Instead, I ended up doing lots of things around the house that I got done. Some of these things included; Making lots of Anzac biscuits, like 3 batches of them because we are giving them to lots of our family around here. I also made a cake for my dad's birthday. We are going to make him a corona cake. I also worked on making cardboard Poppy’s to put outside my 93-year-old cousin's house because he served in the Korean War.

Around 8:00 this morning, My mum and I went over to one of our cousins (who is 93) who served in the Korean war. We put this big piece of wood covered in different sized cardboard Poppy’s outside his house so he got surprised when he woke up. I tried to create a cool trick shot going down the stairs but it didn’t work. So instead my sister and I just did some dives through a hope into the pool. My dad got rid of a stump down at the swing because it was an annoying place. We watched half of the crocodile Dundee this evening. I am going to go to bed now.

Today was a bad day because my sister and I had to go down to the doctors to get our flu shots. They didn’t hurt that much and my mum lets us have a little bit of chocolate afterwards, but now my arm is a bit sore. I read lots of the jungle book today and did a fair amount of study ladder this afternoon. (I will do loads tomorrow) Inky and Charlie my cats were both sleeping on my bed last night and all of today.
