It is common for people to hold onto a stuffed animal or blanket from their youth as it reminds them of their childhood but it is nice that yours holds a specific memory between you and your sister. The nutcrackers are quite special to and it is great that you love your cat that much. I know my cat is definitely one of my treasures, I have had him for almost 11 years and is very old and grumpy!
