Hi Leah-Maree, These are some great facts on some very interesting indigenous cultures, did you know the Mayan culture had a system of calendars used in Southern America that ran until 2012 and that is why many people believed the world would end in 2012. Also the Mayans did write in complex hylogryphics much like the Egyptians, they also built their structures in pyramid shapes similar to the Egyptians. Hi Zana I find it quite cool that Egyptians weren't the only people who used hieroglyphics. Right now I am reading a series about Egyptian mythology and it is quite interesting and teaches me alot.
Hi Leah-Maree, It is great that you are reading about Egyptian mythology it is one of my favourites as well as Greek mythology. I find their take on the afterlife quite interesting and the concept of Pharaohs being the messenger between the Gods and man.
