Hi Leah-Maree, Rosa Parks has been referred to as the "the mother of the freedom movement" because of her refusal to give up her bus seat which later inspired the Montgomery bus boycott. She is a very influential woman who encouraged people to stand up for their rights as human beings and fight to end racial segregation.
