Hi Leah-Maree, this is a great post and you compared and contrasted them well. Batten is one of New Zealand’s greatest aviators most known for her return flight from England to Australia, being the first woman to solo fly across the South Atlantic and being the first to fly directly from England to New Zealand. Earhart is also a great American aviator known for being the first female passenger to cross the atlantic and for her mysterious disappearance in 1937. They are both very inspiring women. Hi Zana. I agree with you about them both being inspiring woman. I remember when I first learnt about Amelia Earhart in America but I had not heard about Batten until this activity. Which one of these amazing woman did you learn about first?
