Llama Report.

Llamas

Hi. My name is Carl the Llama and today I am going to share my life with you. The good, the bad, all of it. So if you would like to learn about my crazy life and the life of my fellow llamas read on and enjoy! P.S. This is my first time doing this so cut me some slack P.SS. Check out what I do in my spare time. (I am not crazy) 🐫

Facts

Ok, so one of the things I’m pretty sure I am meant to tell you some facts about my breed. We can grow up to around 6feet tall and we weigh somewhere in the 280 to 450pounds area. And you may not know this but us llamas are pretty smart and you can train us to do lots of tricks. Something that you did probably know about us was that we don’t bite, we spit instead, but even that we don’t do that often. One last fact, we have THREE stomachs!!!! That enough information now right? Let's go onto the next subject.

Lifespan

Unlike you humans, we llamas only live for about 20 years, but our oldest brother, John, lived for 25 years and 201 days! He’s a legend in our community. It is kinda surprising that we are not endangered being that our ladies take 350 days just to have one mini-me, and don’t bother with wanting twins because that is super rare. Luckily once your mini-me is 2 years old they can start breeding. I guess it's pretty good that we aren’t endangered because if we ever go to war we will have lots of fighters and we can just call on our cousins for reinforcements, you know what I’ll tell you about them now.

Breeds

This may be one of the more boring subjects because there are only really 4 different breeds. The main two are Llamas (the best) and the Alpacas. And then we have two wild cousins the Vicuñas and Guanacos, if you even meet them be careful they are a bit crazy and good for nothing. We llamas are very helpful though, which you will learn about next.

Uses

Like I just said my breed is very useful, for one we have some of the best wool. It's soft, it's lightweight but very warm and it's so strong and smooth that on the list of the best wool in the world it's higher up than normal sheep wool!! As well as having beautiful wool (definitely not trying to brag) we are very good pack animals because we can carry ⅓ of our body weight on our back!!! And we are so useful we can even guard a small herd of animals, we are that awesome. (still not trying to brag) So as I was saying at the beginning we have many uses, now shall we move on.

Diet

This should be easy given the amount I eat or at least try to eat, so let's get on with this. The thing that is most impressive about us Llamas is not the food we eat but the amount we eat and drink. When we are full-grown we are able to eat a whopping 10 - 12 pounds of things like grass, hay, corn, and roots,(because we are vegetarian.) A DAY!!!!! And we can also drink 3 gallons of water, although we don’t need to drink much to survive. In general, we eat lots of things, lots of time , and now I will tell you about where we eat them.

Habitat

Unlike other animals like sheep or cows, we Llamas only live in the Americas. We originally only lived in South America in the Andean highlands (which is part of Peru) but recently we were taken up to North America to be bred and used for things like rides for puny little children. Although there are about 158,000 Llamas in North America that can not compare to the 7million that live in South America. I think that is about enough about where we live, let's move on.

So it turns out that that is all of the interesting information there is about our breed to tell you. But at least you have learned how useful, awesome, and hungry we are. So I guess you have to leave now. Leave me all alone without even Paul to keep me company. GO. GO now before I get too attached to you as I did to Paul. Paul. PAULLLLLLLL. COME BACK TO ME!!! PLEASEEE!!!!! WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
